Kol Muhd Mukhtar bin Ibrahim, (410914) was born on 17 Aug 1951 in Yan, Kedah. Entered the Service as an officer cadet on 15 Dec 1970 (SSC 19). Commissioned into the Royal Ranger Regiment on 15 Dec 1972 (Regular 15). Married to Puan Haminah bt Hassan and blessed with 2 girls and 2 boys. Elevated as a grand father now, having a 2-year old grand daughter and another one on the way.

1. 1972 – 1976 Pl Comd, IO, Adjutant and Coy Comd of 6 Ranger. 2. 1976 – 1978 SO 3 Log and SO 3 Ops of HQ 4 Bgd. 3. 1979 Coy 2i/c and Coy Comd of 9 Ranger. 4. 1980 – 1981 Coy Comd and Bn 2i/c of 11 Ranger / ADC to HRH the Raja of Perlis. 5. 1982 – 1984 Bn 2i/c of 305 Bn AW. 6. 1985 Student of MAFSC. 7. 1986 – 1987 Bn 2i/c of 1 Ranger. 8. 1987 – 1990 SI of TD Wing, LATEDA. 9. 1990 – 1993 CI of ROTU UUM. 10. 1993 – 1995 CO of 7 Ranger. ( 1994 - Dy Comd of MALBAT 11, UNOSOM). 11. 1995 – 1997 DS of MAFSC. 12. 1998 Student of MAFDC. 13. 1999 SO 1 Log HQ 2 Div. 14. 1999 – 2004 Head of Secretariat, Army HQ, MINDEF. 15. 2004 – 2005 Chief of Staff HQ 4 Div. 16. 2005 Deputy Director of Infantry.
